If enacted, this tax on digital advertising would have prevented Maryland’s business community from communicating with their customers and impeded their efforts to recover from the current health pandemic and economic crisis.
At a time when Maryland is suffering from record job losses and Maryland businesses are struggling to keep their doors open, a tax on digital advertising would prove to be exactly the wrong policy at exactly the wrong time.
We thank Governor Hogan for his leadership on this issue. With Maryland citizens’ best interests in mind, we respectfully urge the Maryland Assembly to sustain his veto of HB 732.
